Big Freedia's Brother Shot And Killed In New Orleans

Big Freedia is in need of our prayers right now. The "Queen of Bounce" is suffering a loss after her younger brother was shot and killed in New Orleans on Wednesday (Jan. 24) night.

According to NOLA.com, Adam Ross was only 35 years old. Freedia called the fatal death of her sibling "a senseless act of violence." So distraught about Ross' passing, the recording artist/reality TV star cancelled a few of her upcoming shows that were scheduled for Jan. 26, 27 and 28.

Freedia also reacted to the loss on Instagram. She posted a layout of photos of her now-deceased brother with the caption: "My younger brother, Adam Ross, was fatally shot last night in a senseless act of violence in New Orleans. As the magnitude of this situation sinks in, I am cancelling any shows this weekend (Jan 26-28). Thank you for understanding this very difficult time for me and my family. We are truly heartbroken." Take a look at the message below.

According to a police press release, "Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive."

Our condolences go out to Big Freedia and her family.
