Taylor Swift FaceTimed With Teen Who Had Been Shot 7 Times at School

On May 25, 2018, Ella Whistler went through something every parent hopes their child doesn't have to go through: a school shooting.

A male shooter injured both her and a teacher when he opened fire at Noblesville West Middle School in Indiana. The 13-year-old was shot seven times, sustaining life threatening injuries to her face, neck, hand and chest—suffering nerve damage, collapsed lungs and fractures in her jaw, clavicle, ribs and neck vertebrae. But she survived.

Now, the brave teen is opening up about her trauma, and a certain pop star who showed her support while she was in the hospital.

In a recent radio interview, Whistler divulged that Taylor Swift FaceTimed her while she was in the hospital.

“She just said that she was really thinking about me, and we talked about her cats too,” she said. “It was pretty great.”

The young girl's been recognized since the shooting, but isn't a fan of the extra attention. “It’s different, but I think I’m going to get used to it … or hopefully it goes away. I don’t know!” she exclaimed.

Swift has always been good to her fans in need, recently visiting an 8-year-old burn victim in the hospital and inviting 2,000 foster families to her Reputation tour rehearsal.
