Lori Loughlin's Daughters Wanted Her To Take A Plea Deal

On May 22, Lori Loughlin agreed to plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud in the ongoing legal proceedings for the college admissions bribery scandal. Her husband Mossimo Giannulli also pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, as well as one count of honest services wire and mail fraud.

The news that Loughlin and Gianulli agreed to plead guilty after more than a year of fighting the charges was shocking for those following her case. Many people wondered what changed the Fuller House actress's mind after all this time. According to sources who spoke with People, Loughlin's daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella, were instrumental in their parents decision to change their plea.

“The girls have been very supportive of their parents throughout this whole ordeal,” the source said. “They were encouraging their parents to fight this, but that’s obviously all changed now. They realize that this was done to help them and there is no animosity there.”

“The girls’ biggest fear has been that their parents would go to jail for years,” another source added. “They all had a family discussion about their options before making a decision. Olivia and Bella also want it to be over and they agree the plea is the best option. Lori and Mossimo don’t feel like they gave up; they’re doing what’s best for their family.”

In addition to to wanting what's best for their daughters, Loughlin and Giannulli reportedly also felt that going to trial would "just be reckless" at this point. Though their sentencing isn't until August, it's expected that Loughlin will serve two months in prison, while Gianulli will serve five moths.
