Cat owners know that it’s virtually impossible to make them do anything on command. We love them for their independent nature, but at the same time, it would be cool to be able to direct them to do what we say.
There’s a trick that seems to be able to do just that. People have figured out that making a square on the floor using tape will make your cat want to get into it. Four lines of tape equals a square your cat will want to occupy.
This idea isn’t brand new, but when it was rediscovered by the mother of Twitter user Danielle Matheson, who shared the results, tweeting that “Nobody has had a more productive day than my mother,” after she followed Pinterest’s suggestion to make the square and her kitty stayed there, allowing her to work.
Wince then, many people of the Internet have made their own squares and shared their results. Mostly, it seems to work. Cats like the space made just for them. But these are cats we’re talking about, so some won’t fall for this hack and their owners have shared photos of them sitting near the square, defiantly not getting in. Proving once again that they are the ones in charge.
