Lisa Theris from Midland, Alabama is lucky to be alive after surviving a month in the Alabama wilderness. The 25-year-old was rescued Saturday, after being spotted by a driver on Highway 82 at around 2 pm.
Theris, who was reported missing on July 23rd, says she survived on berries, wild mushrooms and water from a brook and puddles while lost in the forest, and lost 50 pounds over the month she was missing. She was also covered in scratches and bug bites.
According to police, before her disappearance, Theris was with two men who broke into a hunting lodge. She insists she didn’t know their plans, and didn’t want to be a part of it so she ran into the woods, but not knowing the area she got lost.
