There’s a hotel that knows how much a companion can mean to a traveler.
A Belgium hotel is offering companionship for lonely guests for about four dollars a night. The Hotel Charleroi near Brussels rents goldfish to customers to keep them company during their stay. The hotel manager says he and his brother came up with the idea several years ago as a way to entertain guests as they waited to check in. He said the fish became so popular he decided to expand the service.
Of course some Twitter users immediately cried “animal cruelty,” to which the hotel replied 'It’s a pity people nowadays tend to look at the glass being half-empty instead of half-full.
