Twitter has granted a special few the ability to post a tweet with 280 characters instead of the usual 140 - and not everyone likes the idea. While some people may love being able to rant longer, there are a bunch of other improvements Twitter fans would rather see the social media site making.
A few of them include:
- Abuse Protections – While Twitter can be fun, the presence of annoying online trolls can sometimes make it a toxic, and even dangerous, place to be. The company has a bad reputation for how they’ve handled such terrible people, and a lot of folks, specifically women and people of color, wish they’d do something to stop the abuse and violent language.
- Limiting The President – President Trump’s tweetstorms are legendary at this point and a lot of people dread waking up to find them in their feed. Many folks wish Twitter would do more to keep Trump in check, with some recently suggesting he violated Twitter's rules against violent threats with his tweets to North Korea.
- An Edit Button – It is baffling to some people that Twitter doesn’t allow you to simply go in an edit a post should it either be misconstrued, or even contain a simple error (come on, you don’t think Trump wishes he could go back and fix that covfefe post). There are some people who are against the edit function though, thinking trolls could use it to change a post so it makes them appear not as bad.
