When Meghan Markle walked down the aisle to marry her real-life prince, it was like the fairytale princess dreams we had as kids. The bride looked beautiful and her natural freckles were lovely and proudly on display. And now some fans have been so inspired by her complexion that they’re getting tattooed to get freckles like Meghan’s.
American tattoo artist Gabrielle Rainbow says she’s been “crazy busy” since the royal wedding with lots of faux-freckle requests. She actually had the procedure done on herself last year and confirms that Meghan has “boosted customers’ interest in the whole idea of freckles” in tattoo form.
So what’s it like to have freckles tattooed on your nose and cheeks? They say it takes around an hour and the immediate results look like little “bee stings” at first. The tattoo freckles are a lot darker than natural ones at first, but the pigment “settles down” after a few months, leaving a dusting effect that can last up to three years.
And if you want to fake what Mother Nature didn’t give you without getting permanently inked, you can always use an eyeliner to get your Meghan Markle freckles.
