Shocking news is coming out of Madrid, Spain his afternoon where an explosion has reportedly blown apart a building belonging to the Catholic Church. The church reportedly provided housing and training to priests and also served meals to the homeless.
Mayor Jose Luis Martinez-Almeida told reporters that initial investigations suggested the blast was caused by a gas leak. “The most likely hypothesis is a gas leak, there was a person working on the boiler.” Authorities have said one of the victims was a 85-year-old woman.
The top five stories of the building have been totally destroyed leaving walls blown out into the street.
