Utah Mother Daughter Team Put On Porch Concerts For Elderly Neighbors

A mother-daughter duo in Utah are helping to spread joy to their community while everyone’s self-isolating. Kelly McConkie Stewart and her 13-year-old daughter, Vivian, are performing private concerts for their neighbors in Millcreek and they’re doing it from a safe distance.

They walk through the neighborhood and set up on the lawn for their audience, who listen from inside. Vivian plays a violin and her mom plays a cello and their neighbors are delighted to have a pop-up porch concert.

“It’s always just pleasant to have an excuse to talk to people, even from a distance,” Stewart says. And the song that’s their biggest crowd-pleaser? “Won’t You Be My Neighbor,” the theme from “Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood.”

And so we're moving to Utah.
