Ashes from human and pet remains have been spread at the the Bridge of Flowers, a scenic footbridge in Shelburne Falls, causing unhygienic conditions and killing flowers, according to the Bridge of Flowers Committee.
Since the ashes contain alkaline and salts, the leaves and then the roots of the flowers are killed, according to a Facebook post from their committee.
