Way back in 1970, Paul Durietz of Gurnee, Illinois, started teaching social studies at Woodland Middle School.
And since then, he hasn't stopped.
For those of you keeping score at home, that means Paul has been teaching middle school social studies for a staggering 53 years.
This was the #1 song when he started teaching in 1970.
Guinness World Records recognized Paul's achievement and officially gave him an award for the longest career as a social studies teacher.
Paul said his love of history and teaching was inspired by his father's service in World War II.
And as Paul continues to stand in front of classrooms full of students, he hopes to continue inspiring them to greatness.
"Keep working on what you love to do in life," he said. "It may turn into a world record."
