Auto Repair Shop Fixes Up Car, Then Donates It To A Mom In Need

When Jim Pinsonneault, owner of Patriot Auto Repair in Weston, Wisconsin, learned that a quarter of the women who live at The Hagar House, a home for women and kids in crisis, lacked reliable transportation, he decided to do something to help. Pinsonneault purchased a 2011 Hyundai Tucson and fixed it up to give away to someone in need.

Pinsonneault then contacted Hagar House Executive Director Jessica Bretl to offer the vehicle to a worthy candidate. Nina, a single mother living with her son at Hagar House, fit the bill perfectly. She was beyond grateful to receive the much-needed car.

Pinsonneault says the day he gave the car to Nina was one of the best days in his nine years in business. And he’s glad to be able to help someone improve their life, saying “It just feels great to be able to give back to other people who want to help themselves.”
