Police in Canada have a difficult job to do day in and day out, and officers never know what to expect. They certainly never expect to be punched in the face by a kangaroo, but that's what happened to one officer in the Toronto area.

Police were pursuing a loose kangaroo that had been on the loose for four days. The evasive marsupial had broken free from her handlers while being transferred between two zoos. A witness called police to report seeing her hopping on the side of the highway. Before officers were dispatched to the area, they were briefed on the most effective way to subdue a kangaroo, which is to grab it by its tail.

That's exactly what one officer tried to do, but the kangaroo wasn't too pleased and she punched him in the face. A police spokesperson said the officer is fine and the kangaroo was eventually subdued. She was taken to the zoo to be examined.
