A Florida man, Jon Christian, is being called “the luckiest person in the world” after surviving a traumatic incident where he was stung over 100 times by bees and fell nearly 30 feet from a bucket truck—without suffering any serious injuries. Christian was trimming trees in Citrus County when he accidentally disturbed a bee hive, prompting an aggressive swarm. Trapped in the bucket and unable to escape, he jumped, hitting a roof before tumbling to the ground. “They just came straight at me, and I couldn’t get them off me,” Christian told WESH-TV. Despite his bee sting allergy, he walked away with no broken bones or internal injuries.

His coworkers rushed him to the hospital, where doctors were amazed at his recovery. “I had no broken bones, no internal bleeding, and whatever they treated me with at the hospital—it’s a miracle because the swelling went away,” Christian said. Bee expert Grant Thomas suspects the swarm was made up of aggressive "killer bees," given the unusually high number of stings. Grateful to be alive, Christian said, “The doctor told me I either have superhuman strength or I’m the luckiest person in the world.” He has since ordered bee suits to prevent any future close encounters.
