A security camera in Kenmore, a Brisbane suburb, caught a man wheeling two empty suitcases up to a sale table outside Shoe Fashions around 7:35 p.m. on July 7th.
He lifted the cover, calmly filled his bags with 53 right-footed shoes only, then rolled away. He didn’t choose just the right shoes because of some fetish, though; the left shoes had been locked inside for the night, so detectives, and the store’s stunned owner, can’t guess what he’ll do with mismatched footwear valued at roughly $4,600 on sale. Police have released the footage and ask anyone who spots stacks of single boots for sale to call. Meanwhile, the shop now hauls every pair indoors after dark.
