THE CHURCH OF GOD HOSTS EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS TRAINING CONDUCTED BY THE WESTBOROUGH POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Church of God and Westborough Police and Fire Department Collaborate to Build Community Resilience Through Emergency Preparedness

On Sunday, February 17, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the World Mission Society Church of God will host an Emergency Preparedness Training conducted by the Westborough Police and Fire Department. The training will be an amalgamation of ALICE and Stop the Bleed. ALICE stands for Alert Lockdown Inform Counter and Evacuate originally put together by a retired police officer from the Columbine incident, now is nationally recognized as a standard of training for many corporations against active shooter incidents. This is the first amalgamation with the "Stop the Bleed" program a White House Initiative issued through the Department of Homeland Security. As a result, there will be a special appearance from the Regional FEMA Office to witness this event. In addition, 120 members from the church will attend the training and it is open to the community.

Previously, the Church of God hosted three Citizen Preparedness Trainings in partnership with New York National Guard. For more information on the Church of God’s activities, visit wmscog.com.
