There is a fundraising event to help benefit Dress a Girl. Dress a Girl members make the dresses and send them to 88 countries all over the world including the United States to poverished girls. It give the girls a sense of pride when one of our dresses are individually placed on each girl. For many it is the only dress they will every own. The dresses are made in a sundress style so if the country it is sent in is warm they can just put the dress on. If the country is cooler, they can wear a shirt underdneath the dress. Each dress has a "Dress A Girl" label sewn into each dress which has actually proven to reduce the crime rate of girls being raped once they see the label because they know where the dress has come from.
