Florida Woman Calls 911 When Her Refrigerator Breaks Down

People are only supposed to call 911 for real emergencies, but a Florida woman didn’t know what else to do when her refrigerator broke, so she made the call.Cheryl Nanartonis didn’t have the money to fix her fridge, so she called to see if the cops could help her out. And it turns out, they could.

When officers arrived at the Jensen Beach woman’s home, they reminded her that 911 is for real emergencies only, but they still decided to see what they could do for her. The officers bought Cheryl a gently used refrigerator at a local Goodwill and even had it delivered.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office shared the incident in a Facebook post, explaining that Cheryl “believed she was in crisis” and that her resources were limited, so Deputy Marcum, Deputy Elliot and Sergeant Flynn went above and beyond to get her a new fridge. The post thanks them and the people at the local Goodwill for helping them solve Cheryl’s problem.
