Super Mosquitoes on the Loose In Florida

750 million genetically engineered mosquitoes are about to be released (on purpose!) in the Florida. These bugs are designed to actually reduce the mosquito population with spraying poison anywhere. If a regular mosquito mates with one of these new pests, and they lay eggs, any female will die in the larval stage. The idea is that eventually the female mosquito population will dramatically decrease. Since the females are the only ones who suck blood that's a good thing.

Of course, with fewer females, the male mosquitoes will really have to up their game. Nonetheless, this is happening, and soon. The Florida Keys get the new bug next year, along with Harris County, TX.
