If you’re in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on Election Day and need a ride to go vote, Amber Viola has you covered. She’s going to be driving a 15-passenger van around town just to take people to and from their polling places. And the best part? She’s not charging a thing.
Viola says she came up with the idea after thinking about all the people who struggle to get to the polls. “I realized that not everybody has transportation and I definitely think it’s something most of us take for granted,” she explains.
Even with mail-in and absentee ballots as options, she thinks a lot of voters will still want to go out and cast their ballots in person. Viola is taking reservations for rides and you can get more information on her Facebook page.
