A railroad worker in India saved the life of a child who had fallen onto the tracks as a train was approaching. CCTV footage posted to Twitter by India’s Ministry of Railways shows the employee at Vangani Station in Mumbai rushing to rescue the child as an oncoming train speeds toward them.
The worker risked his own life to save the young kid. He manages to lift the tot safely to the platform just seconds before the train would’ve hit. Thankfully, neither the child nor the worker was injured during the life-saving effort.
The child was with his blind mother when he slipped and fell onto the tracks and luckily, the employee, Mayur Shelkhe, was paying attention and acted fast. The Ministry of Railways has praised him as a “good Samaritan.” In a tweet, they posted, “We salute his exemplary courage and utmost devotion to the duty.”
