A woman in New Hampshire lost her engagement ring at the beach and thanks to a local officer, she now has it back. The Rye Police Department reports that the woman, only identified as Olivia, lost the diamond ring she’d only had for about a month when it fell off her hand in the water at Cable Beach.
Olivia was desperate to find the ring and brought a metal detector to help her search the area. That’s where Animal Control Officer Bob McGrath spotted her hard at work and joined in. He’s a bit of an expert, as he’s been metal detecting for years. So he went back to the beach at low tide with his own metal detector and about an hour later, he found the ring. He returned the engagement ring to Olivia the next morning and she’s so grateful.
“Few things are better than seeing the joy in someone’s face when they are reunited with something they think they have lost forever,” Rye Police write in a Facebook post.
