Lady Gaga just dropped the new, soaring rock tune “Hold My Hand.” The track, produced by Gaga and BloodPop, with additional production by Benjamin Rice, will play over the film’s end credits.
“Top Gun: Maverick” hits theaters May 27th.
In first announcing the song, Gaga noted. “I didn’t even realize the multiple layers it spanned across the film’s heart, my own psyche, and the nature of the world we’ve been living in,” adding, “I wanted to make music into a song where we share our deep need to both be understood and try to understand each other—a longing to be close when we feel so far away and an ability to celebrate life’s heroes.” (Whoa. Super deep)
The new song is rousing, yes, and it could become a summer anthem. BUT! Will it stand up to the test of time like "Danger Zone" and "Take My Breath Away" from the original soundtrack?
