The TSA has a request: please don’t stow your pets in your luggage. Why would they need to say such a thing? In Denver, officials say there have been some pretty close calls recently.

As one Denver TSA official explains, a cat was recently found inside a checked bag. Besides the cat incident, a dog was also recently found stashed in a backpack in Wisconsin.

Authorities say this is extremely dangerous for the animals that need to be properly stored in travel crates. The TSA adds the effort to save a few bucks isn’t worth it and typically traveling pets can travel in the cabin of the aircraft with their owners.
