“You can eat pretty much the whole thing,” says Julia Georgallis, the author of “How To Eat Your Christmas Tree.”

She says the needles from the tree can be used “as you would use rosemary or bay leaves, for flavor,” and recommends putting sections of the tree itself in the oven until they’re charred and using the pine ash for flavor. Georgallis hosts a supper club in east London with menu items made from Christmas trees.
