It bear-ly seems plausible…A zoo in China has been addressing allegations that a bear in its habitat exhibit is actually a person wearing a bear costume. A video of the animal went viral recently showing the furry gal standing on its hind legs and crudely waving at confused onlookers.
Hangzhou Zoo addressed the criticism by issuing a statement from “Angela” the Malaysian sun bear. “Some people think I stand like a person. It seems you don’t understand me very well,” adding, “If a person did wear a bear costume, they would be lying down within minutes due to the heat.” Furthermore, an employee of the zoo says visits are being set up for reporters to view the bear themselves.
