How would you like to make your living by stomping around? Sanaa Kelley has shared a video on TikTok showing her doing her job as a studio foot-stomper for TV and movies. In the video, Kelley watches a woman on a screen walking to the edge of a stage and copies each of her steps to create the sounds of the character walking that will be used in the final production.
Her video, which has the caption “Why is this a real job?”, has been viewed over 13 million times, with almost 1,500 comments from viewers…most of them wanting to know how they could do this for a living too. It’s not a joke job, either; Kelley’s been nominated for four Emmys for her work as a foley artist, which is someone who creates sound effects for Hollywood. A side note: the standard wage for an average foley artist is around $144,000 per year.
