Questions Arise About Cancelling the Big E

As more cities and town cancel events through the summer, some are wondering if the Big E will go on this year. Massachusetts' largest annual event, drawing a record 1.6 million people in 2019 and setting a one day record of 176,000! That's a big crowd to think about being in these days.

Some folks are having a hard time picturing themselves in line for a Maine baked potato during these times. The difficulty for planners is that it's not the kind of event you can just put the brakes on. The Big E normally takes about 18 months of planning.

One thing is for sure, if they cancel, parking will be much easier to come by in West Springfield this fall, but it's hard to even imagine missing all that food and fun!
