Maryland Restaurant Thinks Bumper Tables Are the Answer

Bumper Boats at Rest

Imagine bumper boats on dry land. That's basically what a waterfront restaurant in Maryland is using in this new world of social distancing.

The tables at Fish Tales in Ocean City are giant inner tubes on wheels. The customer stands in the middle so it's one person per table. And even when the tubes hit, they're still six feet apart. The owner says the idea is to make people smile, give hope and have something fun to do. This local report from CBS Baltimore includes a video of the tables arriving at the restaurant.

The tables promise to keep everyone safe AND make everyone look silly. So...two birds, one stone. And if the joint floods, built in flotation device!
