100 Year-Old WWII Vet Walking 100 Miles to Raise Money for Covid Relief

Minnesota veteran Mickey Nelson is turning the big 1-0-0 on June 27th and he’s walking 100 miles through his small town of Clarks Grove in a project he calls “Walking to 100.”

Nelson has been hitting the streets to get those miles in and he’s already raised $42-thousand. All the money will go to The Salvation Army’s feeding and emergency programs, which are more in demand than ever these days. The vet now hopes to help feed as many people as possible and remind everyone that we’re all in this together.

“I believe all of America, Democrat or Republican, should be united in helping the less fortunate among us,” Nelson explains. “We are the United States of America and that is what my generation fought for.”
