USA Today released its rankings of the best best apple orchards in the country, including two New England locations.
Libby & Son U-Picks in Limerick, Maine came in fourth and Tougas Family Farm in Northborough came in sixth. Beak and Skiff Apple Orchards in LaFayette, New York was the top ranked apple orchard.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Tougas Farm is taking reservations for fruit picking and requires masks for all customers.
Fun fact: The first apple orchard in the U.S. was near Boston’s Beacon Hill in 1625, USA Today reported.Back then we're sure was some Pilgrim husband who's wife dragged him apple picking on a Sunday when he wanted to watch football.
