UPS Driver Goes Into "Dad Mode," Saves Boy

Transportation Secretary Buttigieg Tours UPS Facility Distributing Vaccines

A quick-thinking UPS driver saved a young boy from a large package that had fallen on top of him. Marco Angel had just dropped off the delivery at the Illinois home of four-year-old Max Pratt, who likes to bring in packages that get delivered. But this time the 97-pound box was a little more than 40-pound Max could manage when he tried to pick it up.

The Pratt family’s doorbell camera footage shows Angel running back across the busy street to rescue the child as soon as he realized what happened. “He didn’t think twice. He didn’t even look for traffic,” Max’s dad says, “He came sprinting. It was pretty cool.”

The boy only cried for help for a second before Angel was there to save him and he wasn’t hurt. Max’s mom tells their driver that he’s living up to his name, explaining, “You are our angel, the way you flew in and helped him.”
