‘Man’s best friend’ has some new competition. Last weekend, a woman fell into a 70-foot-deep ravine in the United Kingdom with no one around. Her cat, Piran, sat at the top of the ravine and meowed ‘persistently’ until a passer-by investigated and saw the woman at the bottom.
The 83-year-old woman was lifted on a stretcher from the stream bed and taken to the hospital, where she’s in stable condition and reported to be in “good spirits.” Police shared a picture of Piran on their Facebook page and the cat is being hailed as a hero for saving her life.
