A Massachusetts solar panel installer finds a missing five-year-old autistic girl. Jake Manna was working on a rooftop in Plymouth, Massachusetts, installing solar panels when he heard that people in the neighborhood were looking for a missing five-year-old girl who has autism. He wasn’t familiar with the area, but decided to take a break from work to help look for the girl.

Manna started down a rural trail in search of the missing girl and he noticed a diaper and a T-shirt in a stream. He ran down the stream and found the girl standing in waist-deep water, wading out to deeper water. First he tried to coax the girl to safety, but when she wouldn’t listen, he put her over his shoulder and carried her out of the water.

Police later posted on social media calling Manna a “guardian angel” and thanking him for his selfless act. They also said Manna was the “nicest, most unassuming young man one could meet,” and presented him with a certificate and Command Coin from the Plymouth Police Department.
