A video of a Tennessee police officer helping an elderly woman make it to her hair appointment is going viral on TikTok. Murfreesboro Police Officer Lance Hofmeister was on patrol when he spotted an elderly woman walking down the highway with a walker. “I was driving down Old Fort Parkway and noticed what appeared to be a senior citizen walking down the highway with her walker,” the office recalls.

Hofmeister stopped to check on the elderly woman, who he later learned was 84-year-old Elizabeth Goode. He found out that she had taken a bus from Nashville around 50 miles away and was headed to have her hair done at the Paul Mitchell Hair School a mile down the road.

Goode reminded Hofmeister of his late grandmother and he didn’t want her walking a mile in the hot summer weather, so he offered to give her a ride to her appointment. When they arrived at their destination, the kind officer escorted Goode up to the door and inside. “It was definitely a sweet moment, and I’ll always remember it,” Officer Hofmeister says.
