A struggling Vegas restaurant gets a big boost after an honest review from a TikTok food critic. An employee from Frankensons Pizzeria in South Las Vegas reached out to popular TikTok food critic Keith Lee asking for him to do an honest review of the restaurant. The employee said another reviewer had asked them to pay $26-hundred to put up a review of the restaurant, but Lee doesn’t get paid for his reviews and buys all the food with his own money.
The next day, Lee called in to the restaurant and placed an order. He then went home and shared his experience of ordering from Frankensons and reviewed a sampling of items from the menu. In his honest review of Frankensons Lee says he was first impressed with owner Frank Steele’s kindness and patience when taking his order over the phone and when he went to pick up his order. Lee gets several items from the menu and mostly gives the food rave reviews, but he’s honest about the couple of items that he doesn’t like so much. So far the video has racked up over 28 million views.
That evening, business started to pick up at the pizzeria and the following day they had a line out the door from 10am until 5pm and eventually had to close up the restaurant early because they ran out of food. “Our phone never stopped ringing,” Frank says. “I’ve sold more lemon pepper wings in the last two days than I have in the past four months. I made more garlic knots yesterday and the day before than I’ve ever made.” Frank says it’s all still hitting him. He’s grateful for Lee and his customers and is sorry to the customers he’s had to turn away because they haven’t been able to keep up with the demand. “It’s just been overwhelming. It's been a blessing,” Frank says. “This restaurant has been a dream of mine for 30 years.”
