Back in the spring, Lee Wilson of Kansas was looking ahead on the calendar and realized that his 50th wedding anniversary was coming up -- and he wanted to do something special for his wife, Renee.
So Lee, who happens to be a farmer, worked with his son in secret to plant 80 acres of sunflowers.
That grand plan worked in a big way as Lee and Renee were able to celebrate their golden anniversary with about 1.2 million sunflowers blooming all around them.
Renee was understandably shocked -- and impressed -- with Lee's efforts.
"It made me feel very special," Renee said. "It couldn't have been a more perfect anniversary gift than a field of sunflowers."
