Two construction workers heading to a job are accused of using an excavator to bust a large hole in the Great Wall of China because they wanted a shortcut to work. A 38-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman have been arrested. Authorities say the duo noticed a crack in the wall and then used an excavator to widen it. They created a hole large enough to drive the construction equipment through. In doing so, they caused "irreversible damage" to the centuries-old iconic structure. The specific charges against them are unknown, but the assumption is that they have dug themselves a huge hole.
