In Missouri, the City of Springfield held its annual Dog Swim at Fassnight Pool earlier this week, inviting local dogs to beat the heat by plunging into the pool before it is drained for the season. The event -- which they call DOGGONE IT! -- was fun for the dogs and their owners, and it marked the last day of operation for the pools in the community.
And along the way, as the dogs were splashing and cooling off, the event raised money for a local dog park. The city will drain the pool until next summer, when -- once again -- families will get to swim...until that very last special DOGGONE day.
