A man from New York did his best "Florida Man" impression while on vacation in the Sunshine State.
The 49-year-old was visiting New Smyrna Beach and decided to take his truck for a joyride in the shallow surf. Cops say he drove his pickup truck around a gate and entered the beach where he proceeded to drive in the surf as waves crashed into him. At one point, the wannabe stunt driver attempted to do donuts in the wet sand. Lifeguards watched in shock and captured the scene on video. Deputies eventually arrived and placed him under arrest.
At one point, the man said, "It's not my fault the truck don't surf," and also tried to justify it by saying he had done the same thing in England. The man was charged with violating a county ordinance regarding driving on the beach.
