Crescent Regional Hospital in Lancaster, Texas, has pioneered using holographic technology for doctor-patient consultations, becoming the first US hospital to use the system. The "Holobox," projects life-sized, three-dimensional images of doctors, enabling real-time remote consultations with patients 30 miles away with both pre-recorded and live video interactions.
The Holoconnects company’s managing director says this innovation could revolutionize the entire healthcare system as the new tech aims to reduce travel time for doctors, increase access to specialized care, and address the challenges of doctor shortages in underserved areas.
