Delino Barash, from Washington Township, Michigan, was shopping for a mattress recently when an elderly woman struck up a conversation with him and mentioned seeing him driving a Corvette. He explained that the car had belonged to his late brother, who passed away last year, making it a very meaningful possession. The woman asked if Barash would be willing to take her 92-year-old husband for a ride in the car, and he kindly agreed.
After finishing his shopping, the young man met the couple outside and took the elderly man on a four-mile drive. During the ride, the man repeatedly expressed his amazement, telling Barash that riding in the Corvette had always been his dream and thanking him for making his year. The man’s wife showed her appreciation afterward by hugging Barash, offering him money for gas, and later saying she wanted to take him out for dinner.
Barash shared the story on social media, where it quickly went viral, racking up over 8-million views and thousands of comments. He says he felt the encounter was a sign from his brother and he’s been overwhelmed by the love and support he received for his simple act of kindness.
