A day at the beach sounds like a great plan on a summer day, until you get to the shore and notice that your measly beach umbrella and folding chair is nothing compared to the sprawling setups that other beachgoers come with. People are bringing oversized tents, cabanas, wagons, and even inflatable couches, and essentially turning their chosen spot on the sand into a pop-up resort.

Most beaches don't have rules for how much you can bring, but many frustrated beachgoers say these mega-setups block ocean views, hog prime spots, and even pose safety risks. It's turning beach etiquette into a hot topic this summer.

One TikToker expressed her frustration with beach sprawling in a video showing a wall of tents and canopies. She suggested a rule requiring tents and oversized canopies to be set up at the back of the beach, farther away from the water, so not to block the view.
