A Texas couple recently found out they're expecting a baby girl. While that alone may not seem very newsworthy, it's making headlines because the baby's arrival will break a 108-year streak.
Michael Sherman and his wife, Joacquia, broke the news to their family last weekend that for the first time since 1917, a baby girl will be born into the Sherman family. Remarkably, for generations, Michael's family has only brought boys into the world. His great-great aunt, Orah Belle Sherman, was the last girl born into the family. Michael says, "I just feel honored. We’re the ones bringing the baby girl into the world. Finally, after over 100 years. It’s amazing." The baby girl is expected to arrive in March.
