On Sunday afternoon, a Texas police officer saved the life of a two-year-old girl who was choking on a small toy just 23 seconds after her parents called 911. Sergeant Michael Lazarine of the Lindale Police Department responded quickly and used child-specific life-saving techniques he’d recently learned to dislodge the toy.
Body camera footage shows the moment the child’s father handed her to the officer, who was able to free her airway within moments. The child, Adelaide Walker, was safely returned to her grateful parents, and police have confirmed she’s now doing well.
