Meghan Trainor Puts New Spin On 'All About That Bass' With Iconic Group

Meghan Trainor kicked off iHeartRadio's Can't Cancel Pride 2024 with an exciting (and colorful!) set featuring some of her biggest hits and even teamed up with an iconic group to celebrate Pride Month and lift up LGBTQ+ voices.

Trainor opened up by wishing everyone a "happy Pride" before launching into her self-love anthem "I Wanna Thank Me" from her latest album Timeless, which dropped earlier this month. The song began with a powerful sound bite of Niecy Nash-Betts' 2024 Emmy Award acceptance speech that declared, "You know who I want to thank? I want thank me — for believing in me and doing what they said I could not do."

As the final chorus began, another type of chorus walked on the stage and Trainor was joined the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles, an iconic group known internationally that was established in the '70s and is comprised of gay men from around L.A.

Trainor and the choir then threw things back with an exciting rendition of her debut single "All About That Bass," letting everyone know that "every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top" in stunning harmony.

The "To the Moon" singer, who recently renewed her wedding vows with husband Daryl Sabara in honor of both their 5th anniversary and her 30th birthday, has also thrown her name into the American Idol ring for being the potential replacement for Katy Perry, who wrapped up her seven season as a judge on the hit singing competition show last month.

Can't Cancel Pride 2024 was hosted by Tony Award winner Billy Porter, who not only pulled double duty as host and performer but was the recipient of this year's Elton John Impact Award honoring his activism and fight for equity and liberation for marginalized people around the world. In addition to Trainor, other performers throughout the night include Ben Platt, Melissa Etheridge, Victoria Monét, RAYE, Orville Peck, David Archuletta and Allison Russell.
