Detroit 15-year-old Gregory Pope III recently received recognition for saving his neighbor's life by performing CPR. The teen credits his knowledge of CPR to watching the TV show “Grey's Anatomy.” His swift action in performing chest compressions on his neighbor who had stopped breathing earned him the Spirit of Detroit Award, making him one of the youngest recipients of the honor.

Gregory's quick thinking and decisive action were crucial in the life-saving situation, which he says he never imagined he would encounter in real life. His father expressed immense pride in his son's bravery and quick response, getting emotional when recalling the moment.

The teen's family members, including his mother Sianna Smith, are incredibly proud of Gregory’s heroic act. Although he one-day aspires to join the NFL, he sees the possibility of pursuing a career in the medical field as a legitimate backup plan. Either way, he knows he wants to help others in any way he can.
